Durians and more Durians

The durian is hailed as the King of Fruits and rightly so because people who love durians do not mind driving long distances to get them.
The aroma of its fruit is heavenly to those of us who love this fruit but those who dislike it describe it as pungent or repulsive. Many Caucasians shy away from this fruit and hotels as well as airplanes do not welcome them.
Once open the shells which have spiky thorns contain the fruit whose pulp is a pale yellow or deep golden color. The best fruits are those with thick creamy pulp and small flat seeds.

The durian pulp can b e made into ice cream, cakes and desserts. I prefer to eat the fresh fruit.
It is sold by the kilos and when it us in season and supply is plentiful it is quite cheap going for RM5.00 per kg. Some branded species can cost as much as RM50 per kg.

My friend and I bought 50kgs this afternoon. Her car was loaded to the brim.afternoon from my frirj  y
