Last Sunday we had a very special class reunion to meet up with one of our classmates whom we had not seen for 57 years. After 0 levels, our classmates went separate ways, some to work, some to further their studies. Since Siew Chin was flying in from Wellington, I decided to fly to KL for the reunion. Unfortunately not everyone from our class were able to attend. Our core group always attends such functions whenever there is a reason for a get together.

We had buffet lunch at the newly renovated Majestic Hotel. The buffet spread was a sight for hungry people and there was a good variety, Japanese, Western and Malaysian.
Coincidentally it also happened to be Siew Chin's 75th birthday. So we had a symbolic slice of cake with a lollipop in place of a candle but she was serenaded with the birthday song.
We pored over old school photographs, one of which showed our lovely young selves in swimming costumes posing beside the pool and giggled at ourselves. What a great difference between then and now! The black and white photo was now dull and grainy and we had to strain, trying to identify ourselves! Indeed we were slim and svelte, unlike now!
All of us are now in our seventies, grandmothers and some of us widows.

It was amazing how our traits reappeared, speaking to one another as we did in our school days, arguing and being bossy. Then of course there was the photo taking and these days we all had smart phones so we were busy whatsapping the photos to one another.

Our loud laughter and exclamations attracted the attention of a young lady at the next table and she helped to take some of our photos. She was impressed that a bunch of old ladies were actually having a class reunion and acting like a group of schoolgirls.

Our lunch lasted almost 3 hours!! After that we paid a visit to another classmate who was unable to attend because she was still in mourning for her late spouse. We managed to cheer her up.
Before we parted ways, we promised to meet again for the next get together which hopefully will be in three months' time.
