Anticipating the Golden Ram & Counting the Hours

A festive mood is in the air as the Chinese community prepares for the Spring Festival that will usher in the Year of the Golden Ram.

Shopping malls are gaily decorated in red and the Golden Ram is the center of attraction.

My sister and I checking out the CNY decor
Red is the predominant color in the malls.

                                                                   The God of Prosperity

Maneki Neko, the Japanese Lucky Cat
                                                              Tunnel of Red Lanterns
                                                                   Among the Goats
                                                          Bamboo furniture & Red Drapings
                                                             Golden Ingots are popular
                                                                  Red is everywhere
Unfortunately, the prices of goods have increased and everything is very expensive. Mandarin oranges from Taiwan come at an exorbitant price.  The sales person said they are premium quality, citing that as the reason for the price. Almost RM5.00 for one Mandarin orange!

So to my friends of Chinese descent, a very Happy & Prosperous New Year.  Gong Xi Fa Cai!
