When I watched the following Youtube video, I was very touched.

I was touched by the response of Malaysians all over the world in different cities to the rallying call of Bersih 3.0.

Bersih 3.0 is a call for fair and transparent elections so that our beautiful country can have good governance and be run by honest, dedicated leaders of integrity.

So far there have been allegations of instant "citizens" given the national identity card (some purported to have an expiry date stamped on it!!) so that they can vote in the coming general elections. It is also alleged that there are phantom voters on the electoral roll. Moreover amendments have been made to the rules so that it has been perceived to facilitate hanky panky in the voting process. These are indeed very disturbing and distressing. Because of this and because the present government has not done a good job of what they have been entrusted to do, Bersih 3.0 was organised and the people were asked to come out and show their support for clean and fair elections by a sit-down protest throughout the country.

The main square in the capital city of Kuala Lumpur, Dataran Mederka, where the country's independence was declared by our first prime minister and where I also witnessed the lowering of the Union Jack and the raising of our Jalur Gemilang ( Malayan flag )was to be the site for the sit-down protest. But the authorities decided not to let the people into the square and put up razor wires and blockades.

The video shows the people, Malaysians all over the world showing their support for the rally at home. I think this is a wonderful thing to happen, the solidarity of our people, no matter where we all are, scattered throughout the world. This is truly a rainbow on the horizon.

Please watch the video and feel the oneness of Malaysians in coming forth to seek change for a better tomorrow.
