Going outstation means going for food binges!! Living in a multi-cultural community means there are lots of different types of food to savor.
On our outing to Sekinchan we nosed our way down narrow roads to a small family run restaurant which is actually one level above a shack.
However, the food is fabulous. So it is very well patronized while its neighbor
which is a much bigger restaurant did not have any customers. People are always
queuing up for a table. The minute diners get up from the table, the next lot
quickly sit down before some others can grab it, never mind the table isn’t yet
cleared. Here's what we ordered.
Okra stir fried with dried shrimps
Sweet potato leaves stir fried in garlic
Deep fried calamari with sweet chili sauce
Every dish was delicious. The Okra or Ladies' Fingers especially were very aromatic. I couldn't stay away from it!! The "Lala" ( are they mussels?) was very tasty. We didn't order any crabs as we wouldn't have been able to do justice to the food. There were only five of us and we're all small eaters. Besides, eating crabs can be very messy as we have to use our fingers.
After this lovely meal, we headed off to Kuala Selangor to buy our freshly baked biscuits, hot from the oven! One type had a filling of sticky treacle while the other had a savory filling.
Our stomachs were very happy on this day, a lovely rainbow day!!
